Student Diplomat/Delegate Program

Purpose

  • 1. To generate awareness about information science, technology and engineering careers.
  • 2. To promote The Peter Kiewit Institute through personal tours and group activities.
  • 3. To assist in recruitment of students, host distinguished visitors and serve as a student representative.

Qualifications

  • 1. Must be enrolled as a full-time sophomore, junior or senior in the College of Information Science and Technology or the College of Engineering.
  • 2. Must be in good academic standing.
  • 3. Must participate in a training program and attend scheduled meetings.
  • 4. Good knowledge of the academic and extra-curricular offerings of the University and Colleges.
  • 5. Demonstrate leadership and communication skills.

General Benefits

  • 1. Provided with PKI name badge, logo wear and written recommendation upon completion of term.
  • 2. Leadership development training and experience.

Specific Qualifications and Benefits

Diplomats

  • 1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 required.
  • 2. Must be willing to commit a minimum of 25 hours per semester to PKI recruitment efforts.
  • 3. $250 scholarship per semester.

Delegate Volunteers

  • 1. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required.
  • 2. Must be willing to commit a minimum of 10 hours per semester to PKI recruitment efforts.
